Praktica DPix 740Z and luxmedia 7403: thin cameras with 7,2-Mpixel sensor for “blondes” exclusively

15 August 2007

Little-known German company Praktica has recently announced two thin digital cameras: DPix 740Z and luxmedia 7403.
Both cameras have 7,2-Mp sensor, threefold optical zoom and function of face recognition in the shot. More advanced luxmedia 7403 is covered with the stylish and practical metal case, with big 3″ display, 32 Mb of the built-in memory and MP3-player whereas more simple DPix 740Z is satisfied with 2,4″ display, 16 Mb memory and the plastic case. More than just strange is support of the archaic interface USB 1.1.
Terms of availability, as well as the prices are unknown for the present time. It is evident from characteristics, that there is nothing extraordinary (unless, nice design), therefore they can find popularity only at a competent price policy of the company. The summary: pleasant appearance, minimum of functions. Could say, that the main buyer of these cameras will be technically not grounded person who gives preference to appearance.
