The biggest in the world display is constructed in the USA
29 August 2007In the USA in Institute of telecommunications and information technologies (California) the biggest in the world the computer display is constructed. Its total resolution makes 220 million pixels.
Dedicated optical channel with device capacity in 2 Gbit/s is used for the connection of monitors to graphic station. Graphic cluster, processing the image, consists of 80 professional accelerators NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600.
Founders of the system expect that it will help the scientists who work in branches of climatic changes prediction, biomedical and genetic engineering, study activity of the brain and so on.
