Japanese created round LCD-display

Developers of Japanese company Toshiba Matsushita Display Technology have developed the small round liquid crystal display made on new technology.
Toshiba Matsushita’s experts have developed special technology which allows to produce displays of any form. Therefore developers have immediately decided to realize the technology.

The novelty in 11 millimeters is a matrix such as TFT, on the basis of polycrystalline silicon. The resolution of the screen is 240 х 240 pixels, quantity of colors - 260 thousand, brightness is 500 candelas on square meter, and contrast - 600:1. Also the round display has light-emitting diode illumination.

It is planned, that this display debuts at an exhibition FPD International 2007 which will be held from October, 24 till October, 26 in Yokohama.
