Samsung has created first-ever 30-nanometer flesh-memory module
26 October 2007Developers from Samsung have managed to create the first 30-nanometer flesh-memory module with cells capacity in 8GB, informs TG Daily.
The novelty is Multi Level Cell (MLC) based which consists in use of multilevel cells for data storage.
According to developers, standard MLC-stores have capacity up to 2GB, therefore to achieve quadruple increase in store capacity was possible thanking to 30-nanometer techprocess.
Usual SecureDigital or CompactFlash cards, equipped with sixteen modules of Samsung memory, can store up to 128 GB.
Samsung plans to start mass production of such memory modules in 2009.
