320 GB HDD for laptops has gone on sale

It is difficult to find a laptop with memory more than 200 GB, anyway, with one Winchester drive. The new product from Western Digital (WD) can solve this problem. One of these days the company has started sales of 320 GB HDD for mobile personal computers, informs Reg Hardware.

WD3200BEVS, which is made in 2,5 inch form-factor, is equipped with 8-MB buffer and 3 GB SATA interface. Speed of slices rotation is 5400 rev/min. Thickness of the Winchester makes 9,5 mm, therefore it can be install in almost in all modern thin laptops. The device is equipped with a number of firm technologies, including IntelliSeek, which reduces power consumption and noise during its work.

The new hard disk has already gone on sale on a site of the company and will soon appear at official dealers at a price of $200.

In August Japanese Toshiba informed about production of 320 GB Winchester for mobile personal computers, but according to the information on its site, it has not gone on sale yet.
