New Norton for smartphones: for Symbian OS and Windows Mobile
27 November 2007On Tuesday, November, 20, 2007, Symantec has declared release of the protective product for smartphones, Norton Smartphone Security. The software package – common for Symbian OS 9 and Windows Mobile 5 and 6 – includes an antivirus, a fire wall and spam filter for SMS.
The product is offered at the price of $29,99. In the company claim, this is the first protective solution for smartphones, which supports both platforms.
Protection of smartphones becomes urgent as all of them more often are used for access to financial services. According to data of Applied Research, resulted in Symantec’s press release, 34 % of smartphone’s users from the USA use these devices to work with bank accounts, and 54 % visit sites, which demand passwords.
