Nvidia nForce 780i SLI: officially
21 December 2007Nvidia has declared official launch of a chipset nForce 780i SLI. The new set of a system logic supports one, two and tetranuclear Intel processors at a frequency of the external wire from 533 up to 1333 MHz, new Enthusiast System Architecture specification and second generation PCI Express.
Besides, nForce 780i SLI for the first time supports technology 3-way SLI, allowing to unite three simultaneously working GeForce graphics cards. Earlier the number of cards could be only even.
nForce 780i SLI-based card system can contain up to five PCI slots, ten USB ports, two 1 Gb Ethernet ports, two PATA and six SATA-II slots.
In the near future Asus, Biohazard Computers, Falcon Northwest, Gigabyte, HP, Meijin, MSI, Rombus, Voodoo PC, XFX and other manufacturers plan to produce nForce 780i SLI-based motherboard. Company MSI has already had time to present its own product.
