“Free” laptops from PC World
5 February 2008British computer equipment shop PC World has offered buyers “free” laptops in exchange for the 18-month’s contract with the mobile operator 3, writes The Inquirer.
“Free” laptop will cost for owners 35 pounds sterling per month. In an exchange they will have 200 free-of-charge SMS and 3 GB traffic. The same tariff at the same operator, but without laptop will cost 15 pounds sterling.
In total clients can choose one of ten models, some of them are not free-of-charge, but are simply sold for a reduced price, marks Tech.co.uk. “Free” laptops are far from high end devices.
For example, offered free-of-charge Advent 9912 has Intel Celeron M C530 processor working on frequency 1,73 GHz, 1 GB memory and 80-GB hard disk. Windows Vista Home Premium is preset operational system. Advent 9912 weigh 1,83 kg and has 12,1 inches display.
