Panasonic HDC-SD3 and HDC-DX3 - SD/DVD video cameras with HDTV (1080i) support
12 April 2007Panasonic Company has announced two AVCHD video cameras - HDC-SD3 and HDC-DX3. Both novelties can record HD video with 1080i resolution and differ from each other by data carriers: HDC-SD3 uses SD memory cards, and HDC-DX3 records video on 8-sm DVD.
Panasonic Camera HDC-SD3 is the lightest in weight AVCHD video camera in the market - its weight is only 490 grammes (together with the battery). 4 Gb card stores 90 minutes of HD video.
Both cameras use system of 3 interleave transfer sensor with 2,1-Мp resolution, have 12х optical and 30х digital zoom, the 3-inch display and are able to record Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. Video is recorded in fashionable H.264 format that should, according to the developers, provide unsurpassed image quality. HDC-SD3`s sizes are 74х69х142 mm; DC-DX3 is little bigger, because of an optical DVD-drive, - 92х91х163 mm.
In Japan new video cameras are expected to appear April, 25. HDC-SD3 will cost $1269, HDC-DX3 will cost less - approximately $1185, but nothing is informed about the prices in Europe and Russia.
