Renault-Nissan will introduce the novelty at $2500 in the market
3 May 2007The head of Nissan Company Karlos Gon, speaking in public at the opening ceremony of the Indian factory has declared that Renault-Nissan alliance plans to introduce in the market a new automobile at a price less than 3000 dollars.
The novelty will be produced under Tata trade mark – it is the Indian Renault-Nissan partner. The retail price of the automobile will make 2500 dollars if localization of manufacture will be sufficient.
Karlos Gon marks, that despite of such low price, the new automobile will be quite comfortable and safe. It will be four-door car, with the strong engine and able to accelerate to 130 km/h. Developers hope, that it will be popular in the developing markets of China, India and Brazil.
According to experts` surveys, there is an evident tendency of split in consumer’s interest: to ultra-expensive and luxurious vehicles and to very cheap economic compacts. Thus the average price segment hands over its positions: by 2012, according to Roland Berger Strategy Consultants analysts’ forecasts, the fifth part of the world demand on automobiles will fall to models in cost up to 10000 dollars.
