CDMA2000 actively grasps Africa and Middle East

The third generation CDMA2000 standard of communication picks up. According to CDMA Development Group (CDG) statement its child shortly will finally settle down in the consumer markets of Africa and Middle East. According to the official statistics, 62 providers from 38 countries in the countries of both regions have declared the intention to advance CDMA2000. For today there are more than ten millions CDMA2000 subscribers in the countries of Africa and Middle East that, however, does not influence CDG plans to increase their number in the nearest four years four times the least.
«We are glad to observe so violent expansion of our technology to Africa and Middle East, - says CDG executive director Perry LaForge. - Excellent connection quality, high channel traffic and low cost of the service make CDMA2000 an ideal standard for any consumers circle».
CDMA2000 in Russia it is represented by Sky Link network, with data transmission EV-DO technology. The important distinction of Russian CDMA2000 network is its functioning in a non-standard 450 MHz communication band.
