Motorola is going to produce 5-Мp cameraphones with Kodak matrixes

4 June 2007

Companies Motorola and Kodak, which signed the cooperation contract last year, are going to put shortly on the market phones with 5-Мp cameras. According to Kodak president, they needed some years to development 5-Mp CMOS-matrixes, however now work is finished and the matrix is ready for “use”. Any technical details of a new sensor are not informed yet.
It is interesting, that the statement of Motorola about its joint plans with Kodak has followed after the information that Kodak is going to leave the market of budgetary digital cameras and to concentrate efforts on production of CMOS-matrixes that brings more profit. We shall remind, that Nokia and LG actively use in their cameraphones production of other manufacturers. The most resent example - 5-Мp cameraphone Nokia N95 which has Carl Zeiss optics.
