China takes the world 3G communication standards
26 June 2007So European WCDMA and American CDMA2000 have joined to already accepted in China TD-SCDMA standard - as a legal alternative to inceptive 3G-industry of China. All main mobile operators of the country - China Netcom, China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom - have already declared their intentions to participate in investment of 3G-networks.
Nevertheless, at the present no license on 3G communication has been given: though TD-SCDMA has been approved in 2006, world manufacturers, except for Samsung and Motorola, do not burn with the desire to produce the mobile phones supporting this standard.
Moreover, last year China came to grief in its attempt to introduce to the international customer its local wireless coded standard WAPI (WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure) and was officially accused by IEEE committee on standardization of secret intentions and unethical behavior.
